Hi, I'm John!
John T. Kartak grew up as the youngest of six on Green Lantern Farm near the Snohomish valley. His career as a General Contractor began in 1985 as part owner of AAA Kartak Glass & Closet where he spent several years as the Operations Manager. In the 1990’s, John worked as a crew-chief for a framing and remodel contractor and then helped form Cutting Edge Windows, LLC specializing in window replacements for multifamily apartment and condominium buildings. He served as part owner and General Manager up until being sworn in as Mayor of Snohomish in 2017.
In 1996, John moved to the City of Snohomish where he and his wife Jayme have raised five sons -Joshua, Keith, Adam, Ashton, and Gabriel. So far, they have seven grandchildren. John is a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Snohomish and is very active in his community. He can be seen greeting residents, business owners, and visitors on any given day - and during most events in his community - with a genuine interest in what people think of the services provided by City Hall under his direction.
He is a board member for Snohomish County Tomorrow, the U.S. Navy League (Lake Washington & Everett Council), Sons of the American Legion Post 96, and Vice President of the Snohomish Kla-Ha-Ya Days festival organization. He is also a member of the Snohomish County Farm Bureau, Snohomish Kiwanis, Garden City Grange, and Snohomish Sportsmen’s Club.
